Will a Krypt T-Top fit my boat?
Yes! Krypt manufactures universal-fit T-Tops designed to mount on a flat deck surface and adjust around a wide range of center console widths.

- Fit is determined by console width and available flat mounting surfaces.
- Adjustable designs ensure compatibility with nearly all center console boats.

Are Krypt T-Tops universal or boat-specific?
Krypt T-Tops are universal, not boat-specific. Each model features an adjustable footprint so the upright legs can move in or out before securing.
When choosing a model, consider:
- Your boat’s center console width
- Flat deck space next to the console for leg mounts
- Desired features (folding vs. fixed, tubing diameter, finish options)
Need extra clearance for storage or bridges?
If you store your boat in a garage or frequently pass under low bridges, choose a folding T-Top. Krypt’s folding models tilt forward for quick clearance.
Folding steps:
- Loosen front leg bolts
- Remove rear leg bolts
- Tilt the top forward toward the bow
Weight & Performance
Krypt T-Tops are built from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy — lightweight yet strong.
Typical weights:
- Standard models: ~50 –100 lbs
- Variances: +/- a few lbs depending on finish and welding
For heavy gear setups or rough water, consider adding a vertical brace stabilizer kit for extra support.
Deck Reinforcement
Most boats do not require reinforcement. You’ll need:
- Flat mounting areas on both sides of the console
Reinforcement is typically not necessary. Krypt T Top hardware kits come with both hardware to fit boats where you can get underneath the flooring to mount backing plates with screws and nuts; or where you cannot get under the floor we provide lag screws that can be simply driven into drilled pilot holes in the floor.
Krypt includes aluminum standoffs to reinforce upright legs to the console.
Materials & Construction
- Aluminum vs. Stainless Steel: Krypt uses 6061-T6 aluminum for its superior strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance.
- Tubing Sizes:
- Standard models: 1.5" to 2.0” tubing
- Heavy-duty models: 2.5” leg tubing + 2.0” canopy hoop
- Canvas Shade: Marine-grade Acrylic Plus fabric — UV, fade, and mildew resistant, breathable, and endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation.
- Finishes:
- Anodized: Clear, corrosion-resistant aluminum finish
- Powder-Coated: Gloss white or gloss black, durable and UV-protected
Functionality & Customization
Yes, Krypt T-Tops are highly customizable! Add:
When properly installed, Krypt T-Tops are solid, quiet, and rattle-free thanks to billet aluminum/stainless joints, and secure clamping systems.
Shade Coverage
Generous canopy sizes provide helm-centered shade with rearward coverage:
- Standard canopy: ~5’–7’ long by ~4’ - 7' wide
Outriggers & Watersports
- Outrigger mounts available for select models.
- Important: Krypt T-Tops are not designed for towing watersports (wakeboarding, tubing, skiing). Doing so may cause damage and void warranty. However, the Walk Around T Top does have a built in tow point, and is designed to for towing sports.
Installation & Maintenance
- DIY-Friendly: Most customers install in 3–5 hours with basic tools and two people.
- No Welding Required: Assembly uses included clamps and hardware.
- Maintenance
- Frame: Rinse with fresh water, avoid abrasives
- Powder-Coated: Use mild soap and soft cloths
- Canvas: Rinse, spot clean with mild soap/water
Warranty & Longevity
- 5-Year Warranty on frame (materials & craftsmanship) except for consumable products like canopies, and rubber parts.
- Acrylic fabric typically lasts 3–5 years with proper care
- Replacement canvases available in multiple colors via the Replacement Parts collection
