Before You Begin
-
Lay out all parts on a tarp/cardboard to prevent scratches.
-
Apply grease to bolts before installation.
-
Have a helper available.
-
Side legs are mirror images (port & starboard). They hinge in the center for folding.
-
Canopy frame has four sections with hinges for folding/storage.
Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Position Side Sections
-
Place lower halves of side sections on deck.
-
Ensure equal distance from boat sides and aft.
-
Consider stand-off placement (1–7 inches from console).
Step 2: Mark Mounting Feet
-
Use masking tape on deck.
-
Mark foot positions with a marker (do not mark directly on deck).
Step 3: Assemble Side Sections
-
Assemble port and starboard sides.
-
Use threadlocker on bolts.
Step 4: Measure Width
-
Measure width between marked mounting locations.
-
Use this measurement to align canopy frame.
Step 5: Assemble Front Top
-
Attach accessory plate + center plate with 1/4" bolts, washers, and nuts.
Step 6: Assemble Rear Top
-
Attach accessory plate + center plate.
-
Do not connect front and rear yet.
Step 7: Attach Canopy to Side Sections
-
Assemble canopy to side sections on land.
-
Walk assembly onto boat and place in marked location.
-
Clamp tips:
-
Thread one bolt per clamp first, then add others before tightening.
-
Cut rubber insert in half if clamp is tight.
-
Use longer bolt temporarily to close clamp, then replace with short bolt.
-
Step 8: Position Assembly
-
Lower T-Top over console.
-
Align mounting feet with marked deck positions.
Step 9: Drill Mounting Holes
-
Drill pilot holes with small bit.
-
Remove T-Top, enlarge holes to 0.15" diameter.
-
Countersink gelcoat to prevent cracks.
Step 10: Seal & Fasten
-
Remove masking tape.
-
Apply marine-grade sealant (e.g., 3M 5200).
-
Lower T-Top into place.
-
Install screws and tighten feet.
-
Wipe excess sealant.
Step 11: Mount Rear Canopy Section
-
Attach rear canopy frame to front.
Step 12: Secure with Threadlocker
-
Apply threadlocker to bolts.
Step 13: Install Canvas
-
Use zip ties to hold canvas in place.
-
Create corner tension with zip ties.
Step 14: Lace Canvas
-
Tie knots at each end of cord.
-
Lace canvas tightly across frame.
Final Check
-
Ensure all bolts are tightened.
-
Verify canopy tension.
-
Confirm stand-offs are secure.
-
Test folding mechanism.
